The Services We Provide

Caring, Pastoral and Holistic

The purpose of the Capuchin Day Centre, as detailed in our Constitution and Articles of Association, is “to help provide relief of poverty amongst homeless people.” At the same time, the work we do promotes community integration and social inclusion.

The services provided by the Capuchin Day Centre are inspired by the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, who was a servant of the poor and recognised that all beings are interconnected and interdependent.

At the Capuchin Day Centre, we provide a caring, pastoral and holistic service that respects the dignity of our guests and is responsive to their needs.  In keeping with the Constitutions of the Capuchin Order and in accordance with the charism of the Capuchin Order of practical aid and solidarity with those in distress, we provide services with respect for the social and human rights of those we serve.

Food and Meal services

We serve approximately 350 guests for breakfast and 700 people for dinner each day and distribute over 1400 food parcels each week.

Medical and Hygiene services

Our onsite team of clinical professionals supports the health and well-being of homeless people.  We also provide washing and showering facilities, haircuts and clean clothes.

Family Support services

From infant packs with baby formula and nappies, to children’s toys, school bags and books, we help ease the broader needs of families in food poverty.
